Journal
The production of our Journal since 1983 has now been banished to the archives and been replaced with e-Muster – the next generation.
Hours of work by the editor, proofreaders, packers and mailing staff have now been banished forever. The Editor still needs to chase around members for stories and compile the journal, but the stress of getting copy to the proofreaders with plenty of time to be returned for editing is a thing of the past. Meeting deadlines for the Printer and the ever changing requirements the mailing duo had to contend with at the mail depot is a thing we have pleasantly put behind us.
Now the journal can be put together with only a day to deadline of putting it on the website and sending it via email to our member’s so they have it within the same time schedule of the previously posted article.
Our member’s who continually support us with wonderful stories can do so at any time (don’t save them up if the inspiration grabs you, write it and email it). We can extend acceptance of artlicles to the latest possible date. For Augustl you will need to get copy to the Editor by the 25th July, about two weeks longer than before.
For member’s without internet access there will always be a printed copy in the basket in the Multifunction Room in the Centre or come in and view the e-Muster on any one of our many computers.
For member’s with internet access you will be advised when the e-Muster is ready to be downloaded. We will even provide the link to make it easier.
With regard to our Exchange Journal Societies we have been inundated with email addresses to add to our notification list, with requests for us to become recipients of their electronic journals and newsletters.
